Danbury Animal Hospital is proud to have received the Business Star Award from ROAR (Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue)
“Since 2018, Dr. Jean Quaintance, Dr. Theresa Kaeser, and the team at Danbury Animal Hospital have provided veterinary care for ROAR’s dogs and cats, both at the shelter and at the hospital. Their work includes routine exams, extensive testing and diagnostics, lab work, vaccinations, microchipping, dental care, spays and neuters, complex surgeries, emergency care and treatment for foster animals with critical medical needs. Their calm, fear-free approach helps animals feel safe while they heal, and their expertise and compassion have significantly strengthened the care ROAR’s animals receive while awaiting adoption.”

We’ve been caring for ROAR’s dogs and cats since 2018. Some of that work happens at the shelter, and some happens here at the hospital. Over the years it has included everything from routine exams and vaccinations to dental care, spays and neuters, complex surgeries, and urgent treatment for animals recovering in volunteer homes with serious medical needs. Every one of those animals arrived with a story, and many of them arrived scared. Our goal has always been to help them feel safe enough to heal, so they’re ready for the families waiting to meet them.
Rescue work asks a lot of everyone involved. The staff and volunteers at ROAR show up every single day for animals who have nobody else, and they do it with a level of heart that inspires us. Being trusted with the medical side of that mission is something we never take lightly. When a dog we treated for weeks finally goes home with a new family, it’s one of the best feelings in this job.
To be recognized by an organization we admire so much means more than we can easily put into words. Thank you to the ROAR board, staff, and volunteers for this honor, and for letting us be part of your work. We also want to congratulate Debbie Rabinowitz, this year’s Community Star Award recipient, whose portraits of ROAR’s animals have helped so many of them find their people.
And to our clients: thank you, too. Your support is what makes it possible for us to say yes when a shelter animal needs help. Greater Danbury is a community that shows up for its animals, and we’re grateful to be a small part of that every day.
If you’ve been thinking about adding a pet to your family, we’d love for you to visit ROAR and meet the dogs and cats waiting there. (Fair warning: you may leave with more than you planned.) You can learn more at roar-ridgefield.org.
