
Dr. Quaintance was raised in North Salem, NY, where she rode horses competitively and worked at the local foxhound kennel.
She graduated from The Wooster School in Danbury, earned her Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University, and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Quaintance has been a veterinary technician since 1994 and a veterinarian since 2006. She helped launch Versatile Vets in 2017 before expanding the practice into Danbury Animal Hospital, where she continues to provide compassionate, individualized veterinary care to families throughout the Greater Danbury area.

Dr. Theresa Kaeser helped establish Versatile Vets in 2017 before expanding the practice into Danbury Animal Hospital, where she has played an important role in creating the warm, down-to-earth culture that continues to define the practice today.
She believes veterinary medicine should feel collaborative, supportive, and centered around the individual needs of both pets and their families. Her compassionate approach and dedication to quality care have made her a trusted part of the Greater Danbury veterinary community.

Don Quaintance serves as Practice Manager and Chief of Operations, helping guide the practice from its beginnings as Versatile Vets to the welcoming hospital it is today. He takes great pride in creating a place where pets and the people who love them feel welcomed, supported, and treated with compassion.
Don earned his Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University and his Master’s degree from Meiji College.
Outside of work, Don enjoys fitness training, reading, and spending time with his family, including impromptu dance parties with his daughter and the occasional round of golf.
He shares his home with three dogs, including Chunk, a Bulldog and Labrador Retriever mix often found greeting clients at the front desk, and two French Bulldogs, Grumble and Gris, who keep life entertaining.
Don’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to building lasting relationships with clients and their pets continue to shape the welcoming culture at Danbury Animal Hospital.

Sarah began at Danbury Animal Hospital and Versatile Vets in 2019. She’s our talented and enthusiastic head veterinary technician, as well as a Certified Phlebotomist. She finds joy in helping pets, knowing that they have a special bond with their humans, and relishes being surrounded by supportive teammates.
The way she sees it, she never had a choice to pursue another field. Her first childhood memories include sneaking baby birds into her room to heal them after falling from their nests. She would also feed stray cats and watched in fascination as they gave birth. Her drive to help animals in need led her to work in the veterinary field for over a decade.
Sarah graduated from Danbury High School, class of 2008. She enjoys traveling, going out to dinner, and hanging with her family and fur kids. She’s always appreciated her family’s traditions and quality time. Her pet family includes two French Bulldogs, Henri and Hailey, both of whom come with a handful of adorable and funny nicknames.

Autumn joined Danbury Animal Hospital in 2024 and is passionate about helping animals heal and recover. She loves being part of a patient’s journey from illness back to good health and enjoys the constant opportunities to learn and grow within veterinary medicine. Autumn chose this career because of her love for animals and her desire to be an advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves.
A graduate of Suny Delhi (2018), Autumn values the supportive team atmosphere at Danbury Animal Hospital and the high level of care provided to patients and their families.
When she is not at work, Autumn enjoys reading under the willow tree in her backyard, hiking with her dog, knitting, listening to music, and spending time with her fiancé, best friend, and nephew.
Autumn shares her home with three cats, Winifred, Marnie, and Aggie, along with her dog, Snoop. Snoop loves showing off his many tricks, while Marnie and Snoop have formed a special friendship that never fails to make her smile.
Autumn’s compassion, dedication, and enthusiasm for veterinary medicine make her a valued member of the Danbury Animal Hospital team.

Kait joined Danbury Animal Hospital in 2022 and loves helping animals recover and return to their happy, healthy selves. She has a strong interest in surgery and values the supportive team environment, often describing her coworkers as a second family.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Manhattanville College.
Outside of work, Kait enjoys reading, drawing, listening to music, working out, and spending time with her husband and young son.
At home, she shares her life with three pit bulls, Redneck, Diesel, and Nena, who she lovingly describes as her “old potatoes.”
Kait’s compassion, enthusiasm, and love for animals make her a valued member of the Danbury Animal Hospital team.

Liz joined Danbury Animal Hospital in 2023 and is passionate about advocating for her patients and helping them through every stage of care. She enjoys being able to understand and support animals who cannot always express what they are feeling.
She studied Biology at Western Connecticut State University.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys reading, going to the gym, and spending time with her fiancé and sister. She shares her life with her dog Daisy Mae, along with family dogs Maxwell and Peaches, who keep things fun and lively at home.

Sara joined Danbury Animal Hospital in May 2025 and brings a deep passion for helping animals in need. One of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is caring for scared or injured pets and watching them recover, gain confidence, and learn to trust the people helping them. She especially appreciates working alongside a team of doctors who are genuinely dedicated to their patients and their families.
Before joining the clinic, Sara managed a local animal shelter, an experience that strengthened her love for animal care and sparked her interest in veterinary medicine.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Kevin, and their adventurous pets. She shares her home with Roscoe, a friendly mixed-breed dog who loves meeting new friends, and Reggie, a leash-trained cat who is always ready for the next adventure.
A fan of the classic animal film Homeward Bound, Sara brings compassion, patience, and a caring spirit to every patient she meets, making her a valued member of the Danbury Animal Hospital team.

Desiree joined our staff in 2020 and adores being part of a “fantastic” team that helps families and their pets. She enjoys not knowing quite what to expect each day and loves making a difference for each pet she helps.
She attended Middlesex Community College and graduated in 2015. In her spare time, Desiree likes to work out, explore mother nature, and with her husband chase after their three “wild” sons: Dominic, Roman, and Kylo. Her feline family includes Dallas, Martini, Smudge, and Kiwi.

Lacee joined Danbury Animal Hospital in 2021 and has always known she wanted a career working with animals. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping animals in need and providing them with the care and compassion they deserve.
Outside of the clinic, Lacee enjoys reading, making jewelry, and spending time with her impressive pride of eight cats: Freya, Kreacher, Momo, Amara, Olaf, Silver, Chloe, and Sunflower. Her cats especially love bedtime snuggles with Dad and curling up with Mom during reading time.
Lacee’s lifelong love for animals and passion for helping pets make her a valued member of the Danbury Animal Hospital team.

Samantha joined Danbury Animal Hospital in 2025 and enjoys being part of a team dedicated to caring for animals and improving their wellbeing. She values the supportive environment at the clinic and appreciates the opportunity to keep learning and growing in the field.
She earned her degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut in 2025.
Outside of work, Samantha enjoys reading and volunteering at an aquarium. She shares her home with a lively group of pets, including her dogs Stiles, Pebbles, and Ollie, along with her orange tabby cat, Logan.

Ashley joined Danbury Animal Hospital as an intern in 2024 and has enjoyed every opportunity to learn and grow alongside the clinic’s supportive team. She is passionate about helping animals that cannot speak for themselves and values the hands-on experience and mentorship she receives as she works toward a future career in veterinary medicine.
Ashley is currently attending the University of Delaware, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and is expected to graduate in Spring 2028. She plans to apply to veterinary school in 2027.
A lifelong animal lover with a strong interest in biology and the sciences, Ashley knew from an early age that she wanted to dedicate her career to helping animals and wildlife. Outside of work and school, she enjoys cheerleading, watercolor painting, fishing, and playing the piano and ukulele.
Ashley shares her life with four dogs: Max, a Golden Retriever and her constant walking companion; Kodi; Teddy, a clever Cavapoo who loves learning tricks for treats; and Ellie, a Maltese.
Ashley’s enthusiasm, compassion, and dedication to learning make her a wonderful part of the Danbury Animal Hospital team.

Do I need to be a current client to get a health certificate for my pet?
No, you do not need to be a current client to obtain health certificate for your pet. Our doctors are USDA Accredited for verifying vaccinations, etc. required for travel. Be sure to contact us well before your travel plans to allow enough time to provide the appropriate documentation.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, we are currently welcoming new patients. We recommend calling our clinic ahead of time so we can make your first visit as helpful and efficient as possible.
Does my pet really need year round flea and tick prevention?
Yes. Ticks that carry Lyme disease are now present in our area and can remain active even during colder months. We offer several flea, tick, and heartworm prevention options to fit your pet’s needs. Our team can help you choose the best option for your pet’s lifestyle and health.
What should I expect during my visit?
Our appointments are designed to be thorough and unhurried. We take the time to listen to your concerns, examine your pet carefully, and explain what we find in a way that is clear and easy to understand. You will always be part of the decision-making process.
Do you offer same day appointments for sick pets?
We do our best to accommodate same day visits for urgent concerns. If your pet is not feeling well, call us as soon as possible so we can guide you on next steps and availability.
