About Us
A Different Kind of Veterinary Practice

We’re not your average vet clinic. That’s the point.

Danbury Animal Hospital was co-founded by Dr. Jean Quaintance, Dr. Theresa Kaeser, and Don Quaintance, who shared a vision of creating a veterinary practice where care feels welcoming, personal, and connected to the community it serves.

We’re proud to care for pets and families throughout Greater Danbury, including Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, Newtown, New Fairfield, Redding, Ridgefield, and North Salem, NY, with advanced medical care, compassionate support, and relationships that grow over years, not just appointments. Clients aren’t rushed through visits here. We take time to listen, answer questions clearly, and help families feel comfortable, informed, and supported every step of the way.

We celebrate new puppies and kittens. We support pets through recovery after surgery and illness. We help guide families through difficult moments with compassion and patience. That’s the heart of what we do.

We’re proud to be the kind of clinic where clients stop to chat, pets get excited walking through the door, and families know they’ll see familiar faces each time they visit.

Our Mission

To provide compassionate veterinary care that supports healthier, happier lives for pets and the people who love them. We combine advanced medicine with honest guidance, personalized support, and a welcoming environment where families feel cared for every step of the way.

Our Vision

To be the trusted hometown veterinary team Greater Danbury families turn to through every stage of their pet’s life by creating lasting relationships, delivering thoughtful care, and keeping veterinary medicine approachable, personal, and community-focused.

Absolutely the Best Veterinary Practice
Absolutely the best veterinary practice I've ever been to (and I've been surrounded by pets my whole life thanks to my vet tech mom). I now live in South Florida and go out of my way to bring my dogs here on trips home to Connecticut because these vets and techs are just that good. Attentive, compassionate, thorough, experienced, well-rounded approach, and impressive teamwork between staff members. Highly recommended!

They feel like family. The good kind :)
I have know Jean, Don and many of the staff for over twenty years.
Jean is an excellent diagnostician and her clinical skills are matched only by her empathy and caring for her patients and clients. The staff are all, always caring and warm. They feel like family. The good kind;-) They have cared for all our dogs over the past 25 years.

It’s rare to find someone who combines medical expertise with genuine warmth and empathy, but they do it effortlessly.
They took the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and never made us feel rushed. It’s rare to find someone who combines medical expertise with genuine warmth and empathy, but they do it effortlessly. I’m so grateful for the incredible care we received—it meant the world to us.

House Calls Are an Invaluable Service
Dr. Jean and her staff are amazing. They take such loving care of my senior cat. The house calls are an invaluable service to those of us whose fur family doesn't travel well. Thank you, Danbury Animal Hospital. You are all wonderful!
